The combination of NIL with UV lithography generate flash-imprinting lithography (F-NIL) sums up the benefit of both the original techniques allowing at same time nanoscale resolution, with impressive throughputs. The F-NIL technique will be implemented and developed at LANN basing the activity on a on going research of new resist generation. The successful candidate will be in charge of the development of this techniques and related research and production activity. He/She will lead a group and will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers. He/she will work in a clean room and also will be responsible for the settling of a chemistry lab for post exposure processes. The activity of F-NIL will benefit from the presence of electron beam lithography system for home made mask generation. The ideal candidate is a PhD in materials science/engineering, physics, or chemistry with previous experiences in UV, X-ray, and nanoimprinting lithgraphy as well as a strong background in resist synthesis and process. Experience and abilities in several of the following techniques and skills would be desirable: AFM, ellipsometry, VIS FTIR, scanning electron microscopy. The work activity will offer the possibility to manage top level instrumentations, to travel in Italy and abroad, to be in contact with high level scientific, technical and industrial personalities, to develop scientific and industrial projects. At LANN a specific program for the study and development of plasmonic biosensors is going on state-of-art equipment . This position is particularly well suited for an enthusiastic scientist having just finished his/her PhD and demonstrated potential for a scientific career. The candidate will be provided with a very competitive infrastructure, including access to state-of-the-art nanofabrication facilities and equipped nanophotonics laboratory that the candidate will take to further develop. She/he should become the driving force behind our experimental research in plasmonics and work in close collaboration with our nanofabrication team. This project is the continuation of our effort to accurately model plasmon resonances in metallic crystal nanoparticles. Ellipsometric measurement will be performed in combination with microscopic detection (ramana, fluorescence). Studies on phase plasmon effect, group velocity control, label free bio-detection will constitute the basis of project. These plasmon resonances play an extremely important role in different nanophotonic phenomena, such as surface enhanced Raman scattering and evanescent light coupling, material with negative refractive index. The work will be performed in the frame work of interdisciplinary competences of colleagues and external users and customers and will require a natural attitude towards team work.
